Total imagination being used... to tell what could have happened...
Shoaib Malik became a part of the Pakistani Cricket Team early in life... The glamour associated with Cricket in our subcontinent ensured a celebrity status for him. As a celebrity you meet a lot of people and are almost treated like God some times.
Among the many people he met during that time he may have met two girls in Dubai. One of them was Fat and the other was superbly beautiful. Shoaib like most men at his age must have got attracted to the beauty. Without thinking much he may have shared his contact details with the girls and moved on to play another match. Remember he was new to the world of being rich and famous, travelled a lot on work and like most people of his kind sometimes felt lonely at times even in a crowd.
A cricketer’s life in the subcontinent is and was always difficult. A match won means you are a hero but a match lost means you are the worst villain in the world.
On one such bad day at work, Shoaib must have decided to check his mails to see if he could find something to read that would put his mood back in order. He then may have discovered a mail that reminded him of a pleasant meeting he had with this beauty in Dubai. The mail even may have had a picture of Shoaib and the two girls he had met. Shoaib either was so attracted to the beauty in the pic or was too down and out that he could not think logic at that time. Without reasoning he may have convinced himself that the beauty and not the Fat girl whom he had hardly noticed had written to him.
We all know that on the internet things work differently. If you are a little dishonest in describing yourself or smart enough to camouflaging the details of your anatomy you can get a lot of attention. The Fat girl may have used this to her advantage.
She may have written to Shoaib reminding him about the Dubai episode with photographs of the encounter. Shoaib who was desperately seeking pleasant company may have enjoyed reading these mails. Moreover, the Fat girl’s mails may have been well researched and psycho synchronised to cook a positive porridge. Also the Fat girl may have cleverly exchanged only those pics where she was accompanied by the beauty. Shoaib soon may have found himself longing for these pleasurable mails.
In a bid to ensure two-way communication Shoaib may have started to chat over the net and speak over the phone to the fat girl. Remember he had convinced himself that this is the beauty whom he met in Dubai. The Fat girl may or may not have known this fact. I am tempted to give her the benefit of doubt here.
Now the Fat girl had never got this much of attention from a guy. Plus Shoaib was too handsome and successful for the Fat girl to even think about this objectively leave aside honestly. Thus the Fat girl willy-nilly let the whole thing go on.
The Fat girl may have not only patently listened to Shoaib but also must have written long well thought out mails to him that made him believe someone really loved him. In the various chats both Shoaib and the Fat girl must have fantasised what they could do if they were together. The mushy-mushy romance must have got even hardcore at times but alas was only virtual n cyber driven in nature. Nobody yet has ever become pregnant doing this...
Then the Fat girl like most stupid girls in the subcontinent must have thought of marriage. She must have told her parents about her love affair over the net with Shoaib.
Now, if I were her father I would have slapped and snapped her out of her fantasy but the Fat girl’s father was amazed at his daughter’s catch. He actually believed that a guy as attractive as Shoaib had fallen for his ball of fat. Well you cannot blame him for how he thought of his amoeba shaped daughter as just slightly chubby. This too is very common in the subcontinent. Moreover the Fat girl must have shown the family what Shoaib had written to her.
The Fat girl’s father thus must have decided to put all his wealth and might behind it and proposed to Shoaib’s family.
Now here comes the part that is difficult to believe...
Shoaib’s family on receiving the proposal were enticed to such an extent by the Fat girl’s father and his wealth and might that they agreed to marry Shoaib off without even seeing the girl in person. By some stretch of imagination this is possible. The girl’s side in a country like India or Pakistan is usually in so much of a hurry to get over with the wedding that they apply a lot of pressure and only someone who has been conned into a wedding like this will realise what kind of pressure the girl’s side applies in such cases.
Somewhere here someone in the Fat girl’s family must have realised that this will not work. He or she must have objectively analysed the plot and realised that thought the Fat girl and her father were convinced about Shoaib being hooked, it was not so.
Thus to ensure a happy ending he or she may have given some hard hitting advice to the Fat girl’s family. Objective explanations like why would a super star like Shoaib fall for an amoeba shaped creature like the Fat girl must have suddenly shaken the Fat girl’s family.
So a solution was thought of.
The Fat girl’s family decided to use the fundamentals of conservatism to hide the Fat girl. This is a very common practice in the subcontinent. A plan was hatched of not letting the couple meet till the wedding is over. The other plan in earnest was to make the Fat girl lose weight till she met Shoaib. But fat seldom melts...
Sub continental conservatism must have been used to propose a telephone wedding too.
This is a paradox. While the religious clergy agreed to using technology to conduct a wedding they were ok with letting a primitive practice like not allowing the couple to meet.
Now what is even more unbelievable is the fact that Shoaib was so mesmerized reading her mails and speaking over phone to the Fat girl that he agreed to a telephonic wedding.
Mind you all this was being done under immense pressure from the girl’s side.
Now, after the farce of this wedding on phone was played out, the Fat girl’s family may have let off a little bit of pressure. They were like a team who thought they had won the match before the last ball was bowled.
The Fat girl’s side now thought that Shoaib would have to accept the Fat girl in whatever shape she was. However among themselves they knew that even now things could go wrong and thus they would have to hide the Fat girl as long as possible and avoid an encounter till a time Shoaib could not refuse or the Fat girl became thin. This explains why Shoaib and the entire Pakistani team never met the Fat girl when they had come over to Hyderabad.
The Fat girl must have tried everything in the world to become thin but nothing worked and finally when she met Shoaib in person after a few years of their telephonic marriage, the obvious happened. Shoaib must have been totally shocked but the Fat girl’s family must have played it out nicely applying the usual pressure. If Shoaib was in Hyderabad when he first met the Fat girl, most probably he was enjoying the hospitality of the Fat girl’s family. Also he was at their mercy in the city and the explanation being given was that the girl has put on weight only off late and that too after she got married.
Moreover Shoaib might not have wanted to blow the whole thing out of proportion. So he must have played it low and posed for a few pics here and there with her. He must have tried to look happy and smiled all around to hide his mental state till he flew out of Hyderabad.
According to the Fat girl’s claims Shoaib also shared a room at Taj Residency with her where she became pregnant. Now we know how such encounters can be stage managed. In a city like Hyderabad one can easily find a doc who will swear on oath that he or she even conducted an abortion. Rest of the proof can easily be fabricated. My firm belief in such cases is proof being presented in a court is always with the person collecting or fabricating it. The proof has seldom anything to do with the truth.
Once Shoaib went back to his hometown he must have decided to act. He may have spoken to his well wishers and perhaps a lawyer and at such times legal advice helps.
Thanks to the legal system in the subcontinent things like this cannot even be classified as a crime committed by Shoaib. Lawyers must have thus drafted an escape for Shoaib. All that he had to do was to deny the entire episode which is what he kept doing for a long time. This made the Fat girl’s family almost give up till Sania announced her wedding plans to Shoaib.
